PHEDRE'S
FED RADIO TOP TEN1. Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar
on Me
My college friends and I used to get ready with this song
playing in the background so it always reminds me of
great times with great people
2. Paul Oakenfold -
Ready Steady Go
Oakenfold was the first techno artist that I was fully
able to appreciate and I think this song is a perfect
example of why I love the genre so much.
3. Natalie Merchant -
Carnival
This song was a favorite of mine in high school, mostly
because I felt that it represented all the confusion that
I felt about people and the world. I still enjoy it
because it's a beautiful song.
4. The Mighty Mighty
Bosstones
The Impression that I Get ~ if I had a TV show, this
would be the theme song! It makes me think of all the
things I've been through, especially all the bad things,
and how I come out on top in the end, even if I am a
little worse for wear ;)
5. No Doubt - Just a
Girl
I love No Doubt - they have always been a huge part of my
musical life and so I had to include them here. I chose
this song because it's so much of what I feel about being
a woman in this world. With how much we have
accomplished, we're still held back because of our
gender.
6. Alanis Morissette -
All I Really Want
Alanis is another of my favorite artists and she helped
me get through my high school angst. When I went through
a really rough period in my life, this song helped me get
out of bed in the morning. I would listen to it and
imagine what I wanted for myself and somehow I managed to
get through.
7. Tears for Fears -
Everybody Wants to Rule the World
One of my favorite songs since childhood for no real
reason except that I love the way it sounds and it puts a
smile on my face. It's a great song.
8. 311 - Do You Right
Ronin was the one who got me into 311 when we started
dating. I used to listen to this song all the time and
think of him - still do actually!
9. New Order - True
Faith
This was the song I bared on the way to New Orleans to
move in with Ronin - it's the one song that really
reminds me that you can overcome anything and that
through it all, everything will be alright.
10. Linkin Park - Faint
What is a good playlist without some angst? This is my
favorite angsty song and it's good for blasting in the
car when you've had a bad day.
