ARCHER'S FED RADIO TOP TEN

1. Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll
Rolling into Bakara Market in the middle of Mogadishu with bullets pinging off the side of our APC. This song blaring from a boom box strapped to the back of our drivers seat amped us up enough to make it through those next few hours of hell.

2. AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
The vision of Shannon, dancing to this song in a mini skirt, on the hood of her Camero is still vivid… and sums up the attitude of the rocker generation of the 80’s.

3. Sheryl Crow - Safe and Sound
Hearing this haunting song during a documentary about 911 gave it whole new meaning to me.

4. Don Mclean - American Pie
Blaring this song while cruising and singing at the top of our lungs. Good times . . .

5. Eddie Rabbit - Drivin My Life Away
This was the theme song for my brave band of brothers as we followed food convoys around in Somalia and Bosnia, keeping them from being ambushed . . or at least trying.

6. Harry Chapin - Cats in the Cradle
My mom used to play this song whenever my dad went out of town. I never knew why until I got deployed for the first time in my Army career and missed my daughters birth.

7. James Taylor - Fire and Rain
Camping with the guys, and having folks come to our campsite and ask us to turn this down. How can anyone think James Taylor is too loud?

8. Nine Inch Nails – Closer
Cage dancing with a cutie in Salt Lake City, Utah, of all places!

9. Chicago - You're the Inspiration
First slow dance ever. Me a nervous geeky guy, her a high school cheerleader. Of course this is the closest I ever got to a cheerleader again.

10. Bowling for Soup – 1985
The anthem for the disillusioned 80’s crowd.
