HELP FOR NEW PLAYERS

Once you have used FedTerm (or a different front-end) to connect to Fed2, and set up your account and character, you are ready to play the game and you will want to know what to do to get started.

We have staff on duty at peak times to help you learn how to get going, and the other players are usually willing to help, too. Type 'STAFF' to get a list of all the staff currently logged into the game. 'CALL STAFF' will send a message to all the staff logged on, telling them you need help.

You can also get help in the game on basic subjects and on many of the game commands - type 'HELP' to see what help is available.

You can get detailed help by reading the game manuals, on our web site. Here is a list of the manuals and maps that you will find most useful as a beginner:

QuickStart Guide, which tells you the absolute basics you need to know to get going.

The Idiot's Guide to Federation 2 which is the full manual explaining absolutely everything you need to know about the game. You can read it online or download it to read offline.

Fed 2 Commands which lists all of the game commands.

Solar System Map - a map of the Solar System space.

Starter Maps - maps showing the basic routes on all the Sol planets.
