ABOUT BARB BYRO

Barb Byro has worn several different hats at ibgames so it's lucky she likes them (especially big garden party type hats). She was the Director of Business Development for ibgames and within that mandate ran the Corporate Communications team. She also lead the Test Team and assisted with the smooth functioning of the ibgames network, and also added the Fed2 Game Manager hat to her collection, a position she formerly held when Classic Federation first debuted on AOL.

Barb's background is in project management; she's worked in a range of software and hardware areas. Starting at GE Information Services where she trained in the "Work Smarter, Not Harder" principle, she's since led projects for hardware migrations, software development, upgrades, etc. She's run data center projects for telecom networks in New York and London. Barb's also managed online computer game software development projects for over 10 years. In that capacity she's worked with paid and volunteer staff, both in-house and external. Before switching to the digital world, Barb was employed in research, working with investigational teams for the American Museum of Natural History, New York Medical College, and the New York Zoological Society. Her most recent public speaking engagement was at the ACCU 2005 conference discussing current trends in project management and women in computing.

A fifth generation native New Yorker, Barb now lives in London. She has three children.
