COMMENTER OF THE WEEK: LEFT AUTOSPEAK RUNNING

A rather strange comment was left on a New York Times article recently. It was posted onto a story about President Trump and his relationship with the Republican Party. It read as follows:
Zero optimism that the Democrats can ever regain hello hi oh you’re there are you outside oh well let me come to the door I’m icing my knee and I’m hard boiling some eggs I’ll turn them off and then will do our meeting…

What on earth was this all about?
The commenter, Christine McMorrow, is such a prolific and reliable commenter that she has privileges that post her comments automatically without any moderation.
What prompted this peculiar stream is that she was using autospeak to compose the comment, and when a friend arrived at her house early – she forgot to turn off the autospeak. So her rambling conversation was posted as a comment.
Sometimes technology can be too helpful!
The comment went viral and the New York Times praised it as one of the best posted all year.
