UNFORTUNATE COP OF THE WEEK: TASERED AND BITTEN BY DOG

Poor Officer Brad Browning had a really bad day at the office last month.
It started when the Minnesota police officer stopped a driver for a bad headlight. When he checked on the driver, Stephen J Hietala, Browning found he had an active arrest warrant for allegedly assaulting a peace officer.
So Browning called for backup, and an officer from Moorhead arrived. The two cops tried to handcuff the suspect, but he resisted, so the Moorhead officer attempted to stun him with a Taser. But during the scuffle, Officer Browning got zapped instead.
Hietala fled and the two officers gave chase. When they lost sight of him, they called for a police dog to help flush him out.
They found Hietala hiding between two garages. He refused to put up his hands, so the police dog was sent in. But the dog mistook Browning for the suspect, and bit him in the leg!
Hietala was ultimately subdued and booked into the local jail, on charges of fleeing a peace officer, possessing marijuana and obstructing the legal process.
Meanwhile poor Office Browning needed six stitches and time off work to recover.
