ACTION FIGURE OF THE WEEK: THE SCREAM

Action figures don’t have to be of pop-culture figures from the latest blockbuster film. Sometimes they take their inspiration from art masterpieces – like this model of the figure from Edvard Munch’s The Scream.
The screaming figure is fully posable, so while you cannot stop his silent, tortured anguish you can make him scream in different positions. The figure comes with a background which he can stand in front of.
Sadly, it’s not going to be available until next May. When it is released it will cost $52 and you can pre-order it now, until the end of the month.
Other figures based on famous works of art which are already available include Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Rodin’s The Thinker and Michelangelo’s David. There’s also the Venus di Milo complete with restored arms. Fascinating – but The Scream is definitely my favourite.
