REAL LIFE NEWS: THE TUBE STATION WITH CAT PICTURES INSTEAD OF ADS

London’s underground stations are covered with adverts. Well, it’s a useful source of revenue for Transport For London, who run the capital’s transport system, so you can’t blame them for flogging every inch of available space. But it does get a bit tedious for commuters.
So a group of passengers decided to do something about it. They launched a Kickstarter campaign and raised enough money to buy up all the advertising space in Clapham Common station – and they’ve replaced all the ads with pictures of cats!
All 68 of the station’s adverts have been substituted with photos of stray cats from local charities. One poster has pictures of cats owned by those who backed the projects.
It’s a brilliant idea, and the organisers plan to set up another advertising takeover, this time featuring dogs.
By coincidence, I will be in the Clapham area in a few days’ time so I will be able to see the cat pictures in the tube station.
