Watching robots dance is cute. Watching over a thousand dancing in unison not so much – in fact it’s a bit creepy. It’s a short step from dancing in unison to marching on humanity, as you will know if you’ve seen the cybermen in Dr Who.
But the formation dancing stunt involving 1,007 dancing robots has just broken the world record.
The Ever Win Company & Ltd in China staged the mass robot dance at the Qingdao Beer Festival. The robots were 17.2 inches tall, and had to dance for a whole minute in unison. While a few of the robots fell over, or failed to dance, so were disqualified, most of them kept going for long enough to qualify for the record.
