SHIP FIGHTING PROGRESS REPORT

As the Star returns from its break, I have finally shaken off the dreaded Rigellian green plague that was inflicting me so I am able to supervise the newsdroids and encourage them, in my usual stern fashion, to produce a full-sized news bulletin.
Meanwhile, Alan has almost finished work on ship repairs, one of the fundamental support functions needed for ship fighting.
In the course of his coding and testing he discovered that he needs to make some changes to FedTerm – specifically to the stats panel. The way it’s configured at the moment doesn’t give all the information about your ship’s status that you will need if you intend to get involved in a battle with another ship, so he’s had to do a swift redesign of that part of the interface. He also found a few bugs that he has fixed as well. The new version of the program will be released next week – I’ll tell you all about it in the next Star.
Now Alan can get on with the ship fight coding proper. Prepare to fire your quad lasers!
