INEPT CRIMINALS OF THE WEEK: FOILED BY SKINNY JEANS

A mugging was foiled recently thanks to the victim’s clothing – skinny jeans which were so tight, the thieves couldn’t pry his belongings out of his pockets.
German Sent (that’s his name, not his nationality), a 27-year-old architect, was walking home from his local subway station in New York early one morning, when he was attacked by three muggers. They threw him to the ground and tried to grab his new iPhone 6 and his wallet.
But his denim put up a strong defence. He explained, “They couldn’t even get a finger in my pocket. They were just arguing amongst themselves . . . like, ‘Get into his front pocket! Get into his left pocket!’ And the other would say, ‘I can’t get it! I can’t!’ ” So they ran off. Saved by the painted-on black strides.
German said, “It was kind of hilarious and scary at the same time.”
Just as well it didn’t occur to them to unzip the jeans before trying to delve into the pockets.
