DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: HE GAVE AWAY HIS HIDING PLACE

by Hazed

Burglary suspect Christopher Wallace from Maine knew that police were after him, so if he had any sense he should have laid low and kept quiet. But no – he couldn’t stop using Snapchat to post messages about his whereabouts, and that’s what got him caught.

After evading police for several weeks, the criminal decided to return home, because the police had been and gone to his residence. But he posted a message on Snapchat revealing he was there, presumably banking on the ephemeral nature of the messages which disappear to ensure nobody important saw it.

But somebody who did see it tipped off the police, who sent some officers to apprehend Wallace. But at first it seemed he had escaped the long arm of the law again, because when they searched the premises they couldn’t find him.

Now this is where the criminal truly displayed dumb behaviour. While he was hiding in his house, and police were searching it, he took to Snapchat again – boasting that police were searching for him but hadn’t found him because he was hiding in a cabinet.

Once again, this prompted calls to the sheriff’s office, who contacted the police searching the house. The sheriff’s office reported what happened next:

“A search of the kitchen cabinets turned up some food, some pots and pans, and also a pair of feet. The pair of feet just so happened to be attached to a person, and that person was Christopher Wallace. He was removed from the cabinet, and placed under arrest.”

When will people learn that it’s not just your friends that see your posts on social media!
