CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR GEEKS

Newspapers and websites have been printing their lists of gifts you can buy for your loved ones, and geeky websites always come up with some great items that make me lust after them.
Here’s a few of the lists that caught my eye this year, in case you need a last minute gift.
Io9’s list of gifts for geeks is split into categories for different kind of geek: Star Trek fans, superhero fans, and so on.
I particularly like the Captain America “Stealth” Hoodie, Barman Keyboard Decal Stickers, the Dancing Groot Bobble Figure and the LEGO Batman Keychain flashlight from the superheroes section. The Star Trek slippers are fun, too, as is the Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Vibrating Toothbrush.

Instead of a boring Christmas jumper with a reindeer or a snowflake on it, you could buy the geek in your life one of these items of clothing. There are gorgeous scarves with prints of Hubble pictures, superhero underoos, a fabulous sweater with a skeleton on it, Star Wars jackets, and lots more.

Then if you want to splash out on a present for a friend (or for yourself), how about a gadget that lets you fling fireballs at your enemies? It’s called The Pyro Fireshooter and it sounds insanely dangerous – but oh so much fun. You strap it to your wrist then operate it using a remote control, or get someone else to control it.
Maybe there’s somebody you don’t like very much. In that case, this list of gifts are some of the most horrible, inappropriate and unseasonal items you can buy for them.
