REAL LIFE NEWS: METEORITE SHOWS EVIDENCE OF LIFE ON MARS

Is there life on Mars? One day we may find out, but meanwhile we’re making good strides in researching the possibility that it might exist. The latest evidence comes from a Martian meteorite, the cells of which scientists now know once held water.
The tiny meteor fragment is 1.3 billion years old, and its known as Nakhla. A scientist from the National Technical University of Athens, Dr Elias Chatzitheodoridis, found an unusual feature deep within the rock, so he teamed up with an old friend and collaborator from the University of Manchester, Professor Ian Lyon to investigate further.
What they found was a structure embedded deep within the rock which once held water which had been heated, probably as a result of an asteroid impact. This finding adds to the increasing evidence that Mars provides the conditions needed to form life, deep beneath its surface.
