REAL LIFE NEWS: HOLOGRAPHIC CHOCOLATES ARE A FEAST FOR THE EYES AS WELL AS THE MOUTH

As if chocolate isn’t lovely enough as it is, a Swiss company has come up with a way to enhance it and make it even better, by adding holograms.
The shiny holograms can be imprinted on the surface of chocolates, so that when you tilt them from side to side, you’ll see stars and rainbows and swirls. What’s more, the hologram imprints contain no harmless additives.
This innovation is the work of Veronica Savu, CEO of Swiss company Morphotonix. She came up with the idea when brainstorming with colleagues for an entrepreneurial challenge. They figured out how to etch microstructures into a master mold which can then be used to make plastic molds to shape the chocolate, and then had to work out the exact type of chocolate to get the right results.
They are now working with a German chocolate mold manufacturer and hope to take this technology to market, so sometime in the next year we might start to see these amazing decorated chocolates on sale.
The question is, of course, what does it taste like? The reports don’t say…
