Yet another story in which it’s claimed that wine confers some health benefit, so long as you drink it in moderation. This time the benefit is to your vision.
Scientists believe that an occasional glass of wine can protect against loss of your eyesight in later life, by making it less likely that you will develop problems such as Age Related Macular Degeneration.
The study looked at nearly 5,000 adults aged 43 to 84 over a period of 25 years and found that those who consumed alcohol, but had less than one drink a week, were 49% less likely to develop vision problems than those who never drank.
Wait a minute… less than one glass week? Who are these people? Maybe they are drinking out of very large glasses. I know for a fact that Bella has a glass that holds the contents of a bottle of wine...
