REAL LIFE NEWS: SUPERHEROES TO THE RESCUE!

When criminals strike, when citizens are in danger, the superheroes are there to defend us. That’s how it works in films. And now in real life, too, because a group of superheroes helped to catch a criminal in a Scottish supermarket.
What happened was, a bunch of friends were dressed as superheroes – presumably for a party. There was Batman and Robin, and also David Hasselhoff. And a Smurf. Yes, I know, not very heroic but let’s not ruin the story.
The man dressed as Robin was assaulted just before eight in the evening. The reports don’t say why. He and his fancy dressed friends called the police, and then chased the attacker into a local branch of the Tesco supermarket. There was a scuffle in the toilet roll aisle, and then the perp was arrested.
He was charged and later pled guilty to assault.
East Lothian police broke the news by tweeting: “Thank you to Batman, Robin, Robin’s Dad, a Smurf, and the Hoff for helping us on Friday night. #Tesco, sorry about the toilet roll aisle.”
They followed it up with: “Robin assaulted, police called, collective assisted our foot chase, minor upset to shelving in Tescos during arrest, you couldn’t script it!”
