REAL LIFE NEWS: CURE YOUR INTERNET ADDICTION
by Hazed
Are you addicted to the internet? Would you like a gadget to help stop you spending so much time on Facebook? Then a shocking new invention might do the trick.
Two MIT students have come up with the “Pavlov Poke” which monitors your computer usage and, if it judges you’ve been online too long, will deliver a shock to your wrist through the keyboard. Ouch!
Robert R. Morris and Dan McDuff explained in a promo video that the shock is not meant to be dangerous, just unpleasant.
They developed the device after realising they were spending as much as 50 hours a week on Facebook. Prior to this they had tried to crack their internet addiction using a number of other methods, including paying people to phone them up and shout at them. Ingenious!
