REAL LIFE NEWS: CLEANING DELIVERED BY DRONE
by Hazed
If you think of drones, the first thing that comes to mind is probably unmanned planes deployed by the military to drop bombs on people, or small planes used by police forces to spy on people. But drones are starting to have commercial capabilities, too.
Sure, some of the proposed applications are gimmicks, but they are still fun!
Take the cleaning company in Philadelphia, Manayunk Cleaners. They are using drones to send clean clothes back to their customers. The company uses the same aerial technology which is used to hunt for terrorists: remote-controlled DJI Phantom quadrocopter.
Owner Harry Vartanian said that the current model can only carry a few light items, but he’s working on an advanced model that will be able to lift up to 10 pounds of clothes to fly back to its owner.
I’d love to get my clean clothes delivered my drone!
