You may choose to go out wearing skimpy, revealing clothes. You may wish that when you are attracted to someone your clothes were even more skimpy. Well, a new dress will help you by turning transparent when you are turned on.
The ‘Intimacy 2.0’ dress is made out of smart fabric which detects the wearer’s heartbeat, and becomes see-through when the heart rate speeds up.
The designer, Daan Roosegaarde, has used opaque e-foils to create this mood dress. He describes his style as ‘techno-poetry’. He said: “Intimacy 2.0 is a fashion project exploring the relation between intimacy and technology. Technology is used here not merely functional but also as a tool to create intimacy as well as privacy on a direct, personal level which in our contemporary tech society is becoming increasingly important.”
Sounds great if you really are aroused, but what happens if your heart races for some other reason – fear, or even just running for the bus? Could be embarrassing.
