REAL LIFE NEWS: IPHONE RESISTS DROWING FOR SIX MONTHS

Speaking of doing without a smartphone... If you drop your shiny iPhone into water - say, it drops into the toilet - you’d be relieved if you found it would still work despite its dunking.
But what if you left it submerged for six months?
Ken Hovanes from Alabama accidentally dropped his iPhone 4 into a lake back in April. The water was murky and he couldn’t see where the phone had ended up, so he just bought himself a replacement phone.
But this week, the water levels in the lake were low enough that Hovanes was able to see his soggy phone and retrieve it. What’s more - it still worked! Well, after a fashion.
After cleaning the phone up and drying it out, Hovanes can turn the phone on and use the touchscreen. The sound doesn’t work, and the battery is dead, but still it’s impressive.
But don’t try this at home, kids!
