REAL LIFE NEWS: I AM STILL A YOUNGSTER
by Hazed
I’m 53 years old. I’ve considered myself to be middle-aged for quite a while now - but new research shows that I may not have got there yet. Apparently, middle age doesn’t start till 55 now.
This comes from a survey of 1,000 UK adults. Previous surveys have set the start of middle age at around 36, but now the boundaries are being redrawn as the population ages. In this new survey, the average age at which middle age was deemed to begin was 54 years and 347 days.
The respondents didn’t think they would be “old” until they were pushing 70.
So if I’ve not yet reached middle-age, that means I must still be... young. Woo-hoo!
