REAL LIFE NEWS: KENNEDY SPACE CENTER PANORAMAS

While we’re on the subject of space facilities...
Google Street View now lets you take a look around key locations in Florida’s Kennedy Space Center.
NASA allowed five members of the Google team to access the site, where they spent a week taking high-res images to create some 360 degree photo panoramas of such locations as the vehicle assembly building, the main engine shop and the shuttle launch pad.
Anna Heiney from the Space Center says of this collaboration, “The collaborative effort offers unprecedented views of Kennedy Space Center at a dynamic time for the spaceport. Kennedy is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and continues to transition its facilities and infrastructure from a focus on the Space Shuttle Program, which ended in 2011, to a modern and flexible launch complex.”
