REAL LIFE NEWS: WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR JOB

by Hazed

If you get sacked you are naturally going to feel disgruntled, and your thoughts may turn to ways to wreak revenge on your perfidious employer. But most people don’t let the fantasies turn into reality.

Not so Terrance Tan Khoon Shan. When he was fired by a Singapore telco company last September, he embarked on a campaign of destruction, sabotaging fibre optic cables on a staggering 600 different occasions.

As a result, he wound up in court. His lawyers tried to claim that he had mental problems, but the judge refused to accept that; then they argued that his cable-cutting spree was merely an opportunistic crime, but the fact that he had done it so many times rather gave the lie to that.

He has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
