REAL LIFE NEWS: SEE, I TOLD YOU CHOCOLATE WAS GOOD FOR YOU

by Hazed

Excellent news, just in time for Easter: chocolate makes you thin.

No, really!

A new study reports that people who eat chocolate regularly tend to be thinner than those who only eat it occasionally.

The study was carried out by the University of California at San Diego. Scientists looked at the diet, calorie intake and body mass intake of nearly 1,000 US people. They found that, on average, the people who ate chocolate a few times a week were slimmer than those who only munched on it from time to time.

At first sight this seems bizarre: after all, chocolate is loaded with calories, so how come? Scientists speculate that maybe chocolate contains ingredients that favor weight loss rather than fat synthesis.

What is interesting is that the frequency with which you tuck into a choccy bar is what counts, not how much you eat. The study didn’t find any link with the quantity consumed.

Fascinating stuff. Now pass me another chocolate truffle.
