WEB-CAM OF THE WEEK: PENGUINS!

Webcams which show live footage of something happening somewhere in the world are old hat now, but they can still throw up fascinating scenes that keep you enthralled for hours when you really should be getting on with your work.

Here’s one. It’s the PenguinCam at SeaWorld in San Diego, giving you a close-up view of the birds in their icy enclosure as they potter about, conducting their penguin business, occasionally poking their heads right up to the camera for a close-up. Be warned before you look at this at work, though: there’s a microphone as well as a camera, so you hear the loud squawks that these very vocal birds make.
