REAL LIFE NEWS: STAR TREK VOYAGER APARTMENT DEMOLISHED

Poor Tony Alleyne. He's seen his hard work consigned to a dumpster, thanks to his estranged wife and the depressed housing market.

The former DJ from Hinckley, Leicestershire in England spent ten years and who knows how much money converting his one-bedroom flat into a faithful replica of the flight deck of the Starship Voyager. Click the link below to see a picture - it's very impressive!

He attempted to build a design business based on his Star Trek work, but sadly this failed and he ended up in the bankruptcy courts. The flat then suffered from an alien attack - a hydroponic fungus caused by his neighbours who had turned their apartment into an illegal cannabis factory!

The Voyager flat survived these menaces, but now it is under threat from Alleyne's wife Georgina. The couple split in 1994, and she's been paying the mortgage ever since, but now they are finally getting divorced, which means the flat will go up for sale.

Quite rightly, she thinks it has more chance of selling as a conventional property rather than a Trekkie's dream pad, so Alleyne has been forced to dismantle all the spaceship trappings and beam them down to a skip.
