REAL LIFE NEWS: FLASHING BEER LABELS

by Hazed

You may soon be able to buy bottles of beer with labels that light up. A printing company in Cambridge, England, has come up with a way to print little lights onto beer bottle labels that flash as you pick them up.

Scientists at PragmatIC have printed working electronic circuits onto a film which can be wrapped around a bottle. It's sensitive to pressure from fingers which will activate the lights.

The innovative part is that the tiny electronics were created using a normal printing process, which makes them very cheap to manufacture.

The film doesn't have to be used for beer, of course - but it seems to look best on a bottle.

The possibilities are endless!
