REAL LIFE NEWS: UNPLEASANT DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK

Normally I revel in stories of criminals who are caught because of their own stupidity, but this is a nasty little story about a guy who was caught because of his inability to keep his own secret. Spanish police arrested a man a few days ago for the crime of murder, all because he used a webcam to show his father what he had done.

The man allegedly strangled his wife, who was five months' pregnant. He then called up his father in Romania and showed him the body. He said he would do the same to his wife's 13-year old sister when she got home from school.

The dad immediately called Romanian police, who got in touch with the Spanish cops. It took them just 45 minutes to arrest the killer at his flat outside Madrid.

Police believe the most likely cause of the murder was the victim telling her husband that she wanted to separate - and that the child she was expecting was not his.
