THE REAL LIFE STORY

What really happened was that I was very ill. I caught flu the week before Christmas, and then before the new year, just as I was starting to feel a bit better, I contracted a secondary infection on my chest which turned out to be bronchitis. This took ages to shift and even now I am still not 100% better.

While I was unwell I couldn't do any work, which is why there were no bulletins, and no Star last week. For some days I couldn't even look at my email. I have now caught up with the mail backlog and you should have had a reply to everything, but if I missed anything please send it again. Don't forget to put Fed2 somewhere in the subject line to make sure your mail makes it past my spam filters.

This was all extremely unpleasant - I haven't been as ill as that since I was a child. I missed Christmas, New Year and my birthday! So I am not a happy demi-goddess. I start back at work tomorrow which no doubt will be a huge shock to the system.

Next year, I will be sure to get the flu vaccine!
