BLISH CITY MOVERS

by Hazed

As promised, the code to let Plutocrats move Blish cities is now in the game - last week's Star gave you all the details, but to save your clicking fingers (or equivalent) from wear and tear, and to pad out this week's edition, here are the details again.

The command to move the city is: 'MOVE cityname TO systemname' where 'cityname' is the name of the city you want to move, and 'systemname' is the destination star system, for example 'move Nutbush City to Limits'. The destination must be in your cartel.

The journey will take a while - between 3 and 5 days - because moving something the size of a large asteroid takes a lot of power, and the city's engines are not tremendously powerful.

Of course, you don't have to move the Blish city to another star system - you could leave it in the hub system of the cartel, where it was built, and use it to boost production of one of your own planets!

One extra bit of information: you can change your mind about a city's destination in mid-journey - just issue the 'MOVE' command again. If you do, the current journey is cancelled and the trip to the new star system starts from scratch. So while you wait for the next code to go in (see below) you can have fun steering your city around the Galaxy!

Stop Press: just as the newsdroids were slotting the last words into this publication, Bourbon reported that his Blish city Ribeye, which he'd moved on Thursday when the new code went in, didn't seem to be going anywhere: the display wasn't updating to show the city's progress. Alan will fix this problem as soon as he can (see below).
