REAL LIFE NEWS: THE BUNGLED HOLD-UP

Sometimes criminals are so inept that you almost feel sorry for them. How hard can it be to hold us a 69-year-old woman with a gun, and rob her?

Far too hard for Raymond Shepard, apparently. The 25-year-old made a complete mess of his attempted robbery in Daytona Beach. He and an accomplice followed the old lady, Carol Costello, to her car as she left a Walmart. The accomplice blocked her car, while Shepard leaped onto her hood and banged on her windshield with his gun.

Eventually he managed to break a hole in the glass - but then he dropped the gun and it fell through the hole, landing into Carol's lap. She was clearly much more quick-thinking than the villain so she picked it up and pointed it back at him.

Showing a tiny bit of common sense, at this point Shepard legged it, but as he ran off he dropped him cell phone, so police were easily able to find him. He was arrested for attempted armed robbery.
