REAL LIFE NEWS: THE SPACE WEDDING

by Hazed

Undeterred by the threat of space headaches, a pair of space fanatics are planning a wedding in space. That might sound old hat to Fedders, who choose all kinds of strange places to perform wedding ceremonies, including the surface of the sun, but in real life this will be a first.

Noah Fulmor and Erin Finnegan will exchange their vows on an aircraft that takes rollercoaster-type dives lasting up to 30 seconds, during which passengers experience weightlessness. The Boeing 727 is operated by the Zero Gravity Corporation from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

The ceremony will be conducted by Richard Garriott, the son of an astronaut and himself a space tourist. The groom will offer the bride a ring made of fragments from a meteorite that crashed into our planet 30,000 years ago. She'll wear a wedding dress with trousers... after all, a skirt in zero-g would be a bit embarrassing!

Guests at this space wedding will have to pay £3,250 each in order to attend. That'll cut down on gate-crashers.

The pair met at a science fiction club in New York nine years ago. They will take their honeymoon in Antarctica.

This really will be a wedding to remember!
