PICTURES OF THE WEEK: EARTH FROM THE AIR

A few years ago I went to an exhibition of photos entitled "Earth from the Air" which, as you can probably figure out, was pics taken from the air - some from space, some from planes, some from low-hovering helicopters. It covered both natural landscapes and man-made structures. It was... beautiful and surprising. When you see things from an unexpected angle, sometimes you can't make out what they are, and even when you can, they make you think.
That kind of aerial photography has become very popular since then, and here's some of the latest. Stunning!
