FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday March 3
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Three players joined me in Studio 1, and one watched on the channel. Celia, Munabilo, and Occy all came to the studio, while Meteu tuned in to the relay on the channel. Everyone already knew how to play, so we went right to settling the order, which went Munabilo first, Occy second, Celia third. And then we got right into the game with our first puzzle, a 4 word living thing (8, 2, 3, and 5 letters).

Munabilo started off finding a couple T's, followed by a couple H's, then bought the 4 E's. After placing an F and buying the O's, Munabilo solved - Employee of the Month - for 2500 points.

Occy started our second puzzle, a 5 word thing (1, 6, 10, 4, and 5 letters). He started off finding a T for 1000, an N for 750 more, and three S's for 150 each, until a missing L ended his turn. Celia took over and landed on 100 twice, for three R's and a P. Then she spun 750 and called B, but this time B was for buzzer, which signaled it was not in the puzzle. Munabilo got hold of the puzzle, finding a G, D, buying the A's, E's, and I's, then adding an H and two C's, buying the O, and then picking up a free spin with an M that left only vowels. Munabilo then solved the puzzle - a raised proscenium arch stage - for 600 points.

Our third puzzle was 4 word things (5, 5, 2, and 5 letters). Occy was up next again to start the puzzle, but his initial call of a T was not in the puzzle. Celia found two R's for 1000 each, only to lose the points with a Bankrupt on the next spin. Munabilo took its turn, finding an S and N before calling an L that wasn't in the puzzle. It decided to use its free spin to continue, but then couldn't find a D. Occy got the puzzle back, and performed the third consecutive spin that landed on 150, and the third consecutive spin that couldn't find a letter, this time with H. Celia got another crack at the puzzle, and found an M, and A's, before no P. Munabilo got the puzzle back, and again finished a puzzle, finding an F, buying the O, and finding a B. It then solved again - amber waves of grain - for 1250 points this time.

Tonight's fourth puzzle was 4 word things (9, 4, 10, and 12 letters), with lots of letters. Occy was once again up next to begin the puzzle. He found an S for 600, but then hit Bankrupt, wiping that out, along with his turn. Celia took over and placed a couple R's, a couple N's, four T's for 1000 each, bought the A's, E's, and I's, found three L's, also for 1000 each, and then three C's. That helped her see the first word (c _ _ _ _ t e r s), and helped her solve the puzzle - computers with artificial intelligence - for a whopping 9150 points.

We had time for a fifth and final puzzle, a 3 word phrase (8, 7, and 10 letters). Munabilo was up next to start, and promptly picked up not one, but two free spins with the first two letters found, S and T. It then started picking up points - 1000 for an R, two L's for 600 each, bought the E, A's, and I's, an m for 350, a Y for 150, a Q for 200, two H's for 400 each, and a C for 750 more. Munabilo then solved - equality through capitalism - to take Round 5 for 3700 points.

That brought us to the end of tonight's game. With that final solve, Munabilo raised its total from 4 solved puzzles to 8050 points. And with her one big solve, Celia ended up tonight's big winner with 9150 points. Congratulations to both! And thanks to Occy for playing in tonight's game, and Meteu for tuning in and being our audience. Join us again on St. Patty's Day, March 17, beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern, for our next exciting edition of the Fed Phrase Game (road show in Chez Diesel with green beer, anyone?).
