This episode of Federgories was guest hosted by yours truly, Kalandra, in order to give Angelfowl a chance to play and well, let's face it, it was fun! I decided to go with a State/County fair theme since all the fairs were going on in my area. Angelfowl, Andrew, Zarquad and Queenmommy joined us to play and, after being rather cheekily asked to make a sandwich by my darling Andrew and a very brief malfunction with my triggers, we got going with this week's categories.
We started with things you can buy at the county or state fair with a starting letter of H. Despite the warning to start only Angelfowl with Hotdogs and Queenmommy with horseshoes got their answers in on time so we moved on to the next round. It was Craft goods that you might see on display in the craft section with a starting letter of C. Apparently the men in the group confused Craft with Kraft because they answered with Cheese and Cheeze wiz while the ladies answered with more appropriate Colored glass and Crochet hooks.
Next up was games you might play at the fair and probably lose money on with a starting letter of T, followed by Animals you would see at the farm critter exhibit, shows and competitions starting with C - which elicited some rather imaginative answers of cows from Angelfowl, Zarquad with chinchilla, Andrew chose cheetahs, and Queenmommy with crocodials. I had to assume there must have been a travelling zoo with this particular fair and awarded everyone points.
The next category was things you might buy on impulse at the fair starting letter of B which elicited the answers bandana, Bears (teddy), Bargin Bakery, Brittle. I counted points for everyone because I have seen some very dodgy bakery items on sale at different fairs. Final standard round was something you DON'T want to see at the fair starting letter of S. Answers were Angelfowl with snakes, Zarquad snake oil salesman, Queenmommy smelly old men, Andrew satan.
Final Federgories was Traditional Fair Food Items. The answers were quite imaginative:
Zarquad answered with deep fried oreas, deep fried twinkies, corn dog, deep fried avocado, bread bowl chowder, drumstick, nestle ice cream bar.
Queenmommy's answers were hotdogs, cottoncandy, pretzels, corn on the cob, pies, cakes,peanuts, carmel apples.
Angelfowl answered with Funnel cakes, cotten candy, hot dogs, nachos, candy bars, sandwiches, philly cheesesteak
Andrew said funnel cackes, cotten candy, hamburgers, hot dogs, candy bars, peanuts, chips, fidge, cup cakes.
After all the duplicates were removed and the points tallied, the final standing was third place with 11 points, Angelfowl, second place with 12 points was Queenmommy, and our winner was Zarquad with 13 points... Congrats! And thanks to all who played and put up with my bumpy run at guest hosting.
