MONORAIL PROJECT FINALLY RESUMED

It was planned to link up all the significant points of interest in Earth's main city area. It finally opened late, extremely over budget, and with a much reduced service. The monorail turned out to be a huge disaster of a project, sucking up public funds and never fulfilling its promise.

Now, after years of wrangling, blame-storming and finger- (or equivalent) pointing, the project is on the move again. Work has resumed on the extension, which will see new stations opening to serve the hospital and the mini-zoo.

Construction forething Brikz, a droid with many years of experience bossing large municipal projects of this kind, told us that work was progressing well. "We've got the ground cleared for the two new stations, and are starting to dig the foundations. There is some dispute over the first hole that has been dug: we've dug it round, but some say it oughta be square. But what do they know? Bureacrats! If they don't stop trying to boss us around, they may just find themselves buried in the hole, leaving nothing but their stupid hats above ground..." At this point he was led away to have a lie down.

Officials are cannily refusing to release details of the schedule, on the grounds that if nobody knows when the work is expected to be complete, nobody can complain if it overruns again. We'll report on the progress of the monorail extension in future bulletins.
