FEDERGORIES

Thursday November 30
by Cloudbase

Four players opted to have a crack at Federgories this week with one spectator: the challengers were Cerunnos, Andrew, Dougal and Fancy.

Round 1 started with us remembering Memorial Day where apart from the US and the UK, we sought to find who else were allies during World War II. Ceunnos opted for Russia (who were on both sides, but at different times), Andrew offered France, and Fancy chose Australia, all three scoring. Dougal opted for Germany though I am reasonably sure that the Allies were actually fighting against the Germans! Round 2 was a bonus round as we sought the contestants' knowledge of Bruce Willis films. Cerrunos managed 5, Fancy a couple and Andrew a single point. Round 3 was a Federgory round and saw Andrew, Dougal and Fancy take 2 points apiece as we sought Player Systems starting with the letter 'A'. Round 4 saw the same players each score as we looked for an alternative meat to Turkey to be served at Thanksgiving. In Round 5 we asked the players to name teams that have won the Superbowl more than once, with Cerunnos, Andrew and Fancy all scoring here.

So at the halfway stage it was all very close with only 3 points separating all four players and just a single point between 1st place and joint second.

Round 6 was our second Federgory of the night as we sought players whose name started with the letter 'D', and all four players scored equally here, as they did in Round 7 too. This was going to be a close finish indeed! Round 8 was our third and Final Federgory of the night as we sought commands beginning with the letter 'T' - Fancy was the only scorer here with 'Transfer' and all the others cancelled each other out with 'Tightbeam'. Round 9 saw Dougal and Andrew cancel each other out too, so points were awarded to Fancy and to Cerunnos. So into the final round and it still could have been anyone's game. We sought James Bond films in the final round, our second bonus round of the night.

Once the scores were totaled our winner was decided by the last round entries, and it was debutant Cerunnos taking the top spot by a point from Fancy who was second, and in third place Andrew.

Congratulations to Cerunnos who unusually took the title despite Fancy playing! He was rewarded with his very first Slithy Tove!
