THE END OF SUMMER

by Hazed

British Summer Time has now officially ended, although the weather thought it was over long ago! Yes, the clocks went back last night in the UK and most of Europe, so for one week only, I am out of sync with the Fed servers, which run on eastern time where the clocks don't go back till next week.

I look forward to the fall time change because it gives me an extra hour in bed, but I dread the reverse in spring where I loose an hour's sleep. It always take me weeks to catch up again - it's as bad as jet-lag. Now, it turns out it's not just me because scientists have discovered that it does indeed take the body's circadian rhythms weeks rather than days to adjust. And the worst affected are the "night owls" like me who can stay locked into standard "winter" time for weeks after the clocks go forward in the spring.

I do wish we could just drop the time change: pick one time, and stick with it all year round!
