FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday August 7
by Fancy-Fancy, Mogul of Toontown

Three players joined me in the studio for tonight's game, with another couple watching on the channel. Stiddleficks, Nkir, and Trilleth came in to play while Boone and Qrygg watched on the channel. As Nkir was new to the game, I went over the rules for him. Then the players spun the wheel to determine the order in which they would take their turns. Nkir gained the first slot, followed by Stiddleficks, and then Trilleth.

Tonight's first puzzle was a 5 word thing (1, 8, 2, 9, and 6 letters), which Nkir got to start. His first spin landed on 350, but there were no N's for him. Stiddleficks took over and correctly called R, T, S, A, P, Y, L, and K before solving - a tapestry of silksteel cables - for 4050 points.

Our second puzzle was a 2 word thing (13, and 4 letters). Trilleth got to start it, and placed the N, R, T, and S before calling an H not in the puzzle. Nkir got a chance, but there were no L's for him. Stiddleficks placed a C, O, and D, before buying an E, which was not in the puzzle. Trilleth got the puzzle back and got points for the V, Y, and G, leaving only vowels, and solved - Radioactivity sign - for 3200 points.

Tonight's third puzzle was a 5 word place (4, 13, 5, 5, and 3 letters). We were back to Nkir to start this puzzle, but he didn't seem to be with us. After waiting a few minutes we started the puzzle with Stiddleficks instead. The round started out auspiciously for Stiddleficks with a Free Spin which she picked up with the S's. After finding 4 T's, she landed on Lose a Turn, and decided to use her free spin to continue her turn. She added an R, but then missed with a B, turning the puzzle over to Trilleth. Trill found an N and three L's for 1350 points, then picked up a free spin of her own with a D. She bought the O's next, then found an H, on which she seemed a bit nervous calling it. She bought the I's, and that seemed to help. She called the C, V, Z, and A next, and after asking for the scores, decided to solve, and did so successfully - Lost Civilizations Theme Parks, Ltd. - for 2550 points.

That brought us to the end of our allotted hour, and made Trilleth tonight's big winner with 5750 points, overtaking Stiddleficks' 4050 points at the end. A big thanks to our players and relay audience in tonight's game. Join us in Studio 1 on August 21 for our next edition of the Fed Phrase Game!
