REAL LIFE NEWS: AN UNUSUAL WAY TO CELEBRATE HARRY POTTER

by Hazed

This weekend the new Harry Potter book has been released, the final in the series, where we get to find out if all the hype has been worth it. To celebrate the seventh book about the boy wizard, Iowa State Fair has come up with something a bit more unusual than the parties where kids dress up as wizards: they have announced a butter sculpture of Harry Potter.

Butter sculpting is apparently a big part of the annual fair. Sarah Pratt, according to the Des Moines Register, took over as the lead sculptor last year after being apprentice to the previous guy, and this year she will be carving a likeness of the scar-faced kid for "a place of honor next to the cow inside the Agriculture Building's refrigerated glass case."

If you are intrigued by this dairy produce homage, the Iowa State Fair runs from August 9 to 19. I do hope somebody, somewhere, will post some pictures of the butter Harry on the web - I'll keep an eye out and tell you about them!
