NEWSDROID HOLIDAY

It isn't easy being a newsdroid. The work is hard, the pay is lousy, the conditions are poor, and the boss is... well, she's the demi-goddess. Of course, she's wonderful, we wouldn't dare say anything else, but she is a hard task-mistress who demands total and immediate obedience to her every whim. Which is of course her due, no argument!

But we get to the point where if we don't get some time off, we know we will explode. And that's not a metaphor - I have seen it happen to overworked newsdroids; steam starts to come out of their sensors and their heads fly off with a bang. It's not pretty, and it makes a mess in the office.

So Hazed, in her infinite generosity, has decreed that it's time for us newsdroids to have a holiday. Next week's issue of the Fed2 Star will be the last one, then we can pack up our buckets and spades and head for the beach. At least, that's where I am going.

This means there will be no news on August 5 or August 12. We'll be back on August 19. Try not to miss us too much!
