THE FED2 VOTING BREAKTHROUGH

by Hazed

Humans count in base ten, unlike alien squid whose appendages lead them to use base eight instead. That means we give particular significance to multiples of ten - 100 years since something happened, the millenium, even the mileometer on the car flipping from 9,999 to 10,000 miles.

And so it is with pleasure and even a little excitement I can announce two things.

First, is that Fed2 is now regularly getting over 100 simultaneous players.

Second, is that on The Mud Connector's ranking of games, our score has broken through the 10,000 vote barrier, a very pleasing achievement.

The Mud Connector is the best site about multi-player games on the web, and it's where a lot of our new players come from. It lists all of the games available on the web so that people wanting to find a new game to play can read about what's available. But there are thousands upon thousands of text games, so TMC has a chart which lists the games in order of their popularity, as determined by player votes.

It's important that we get a good supply of newbods because we want the game to grow; without them, it will stagnate and eventually die. Keeping the game in the top ten of the listings is important, and the higher up the listings we are, the more likely people are to click on the link to us, rather than other games.

We are currently in the number 4 position in the charts, with (at the time of writing) 10055 votes. We're comfortably ahead of the number 5 game, which has 9097 votes, and we need to gain 475 votes to catch up with the number 3 game, with 10530 votes. Given that last time I nagged you about voting, we were 751 votes behind them, we're pulling up nicely, and we can continue to close the gap if we can get more people to vote for us regularly.

TMC allow you to cast your vote every day, and votes older than 30 days old are discarded - so you need to keep on voting every single day to make sure your votes stick. If you start voting now and vote every day, that means that in a month's time you will have added 30 votes to our total.

Those who do already vote for Fed2 - thank you! Please continue to do so on a daily basis. If you don't - then start now, and make it a habit to go and vote every single day.

Vote for Fed2 by going to The Mud Connector's voting page at http://www.mudconnect.com/cgi-bin/vote_rank.cgi?mud=Federation+II then click the button to cast your vote.
