From one crazy addiction story to another. A recent survey has found that half of Britons would not exist without email - and it's those in their 30s and 40s who are more addicted than teenagers, who presumably have moved on from such an old-fashioned pastime to poking each other on social networking sites instead.

More women than men said they would be lost without access to their inbox - 41% of women compared with 38% of men.

I am not quite sure that finding something useful, or even indispensable in personal and business life, counts as an addiction. You might as well say that people are addicted to shoes because they wear them every day!
