CRYPTOGRAMS

Saturday April 14
by Catspaws

There are many things I enjoy: chasing mice, a nice tuna filet, a catnap under a shade tree. But what I enjoy most is a good game of Cryptograms, and other than having a dozen players, what really enhances a Cryptograms game for me is when I manage to confuzzle Fancy...

Ahem...

Cloudbase did manage to steal away Fancy's usual perfect score by solving the first puzzle ahead of the Top Cat, which made me purr happily.

Player Names With Five Letters:
QKOMT
NRKNJ
WMMVX
ZXVUO
GONDJ
TUOKN

Not to be outdone, Fancy beat out Cloudbase and Ryuken in solving the second puzzle.

Commands With Five Letters:
BCTEB
PATEQ
UBLNY
IBFJW
KLMIB
ZIMFB

Fancy, Jake and Cloudbase were successful in deciphering this list of five-letter commodity names, which had a simple starting point with the common final letter.

Commodity Names With Five Letters:
RKWMP
DTEGU
VLEPU
CYYSU
PYYTU
QYTYU

Continuing with the five-letter theme, Fancy, Jake and Cloudbase pored over the lengthy DI SYSTEMS display to solve the next puzzle.

System Names With Five Letters:
XFJXA
UHNSK
SQEBH
OJYBX
ALMMH
SLCYC

I managed to stump Cloudbase with the final puzzle, although Fancy and Jake managed to solve it.

Planet Names With Five Letters:
AKMTA
RKTVV
FPJIV
CZNKM
VLPPW
KECUW

Tallying the scores, Fancy came in first, as usual, with Cloudbase stealing second place and Jake coming in third. We play Cryptograms every Saturday at 3.00pm eastern on the Cryptograms channel, and you can sharpen your deciphering skills by solving the puzzles found in past issues of the Star.
