WACKY WORDS

Thursday January 25
by Emie

Thursday night four players joined me on channel Wacky to match wits in Wacky Words. Captainfuzzy, Yuko, and Catspaws came to play, and Jackdhuntr watched and voted along. Kblackdragon and Occy also dropped by for part of the event.

Our first word of the night was DEPOT, which elicited a theme guess from Yuko of "things that you build in Fed" – and she was so close! She made her feelings known with her submission, "Doesn't Emie Positively Overthink Themes?" If only these players knew the devilish themes I consider but reject as too hard! She found some populist support, tying Catspaws for first place with 2 votes each. Captainfuzzy earned a point for getting his answer in fastest, and repeated the feat for the next two rounds.

The second word, SHIP, clued Yuko in to the correct theme – "things you can buy" – and so she earned the theme point for the night. Once again, Yuko and Catspaws split the votes with two apiece. Yuko scared me for a moment with her apologetic, "Sorry, Hazed is Pissed," before I realized the tight-beam was her submission for the round! Captainfuzzy also earned one vote in addition to his speed point.

Our third word was ROUND, and in a growing trend, Yuko and Catspaws earned two votes each while Captainfuzzy received the speed point. Catspaws pandered to the audience a bit with her submission, "Rowdy Occy Urges New Delights".

The fourth word of the night was the coveted SHARES. Unfortunately, Captainfuzzy wasn't able to join us, so we only had two submissions for this round. Jackdhuntr held the tie-breaking vote and chose Catspaws' "Sometimes Hugs Are Really Extra Special", giving her a flood of points: she'd earned the speed point, two votes, and the bonus point for sweeping the votes. Yuko received one vote.

Our final word of the night was FUTURES, and this time it was Yuko who earned four points through speed and a clean sweep of the votes which earned a bonus point in addition to the two votes themselves. Her winning phrase had everyone buzzing: "'Fancy's Ultrasecret Thong? Utterly Revolting!' Emie Stammered". Fancy has yet to comment on the incident.

The final scores in this close match were Yuko-12, Catspaws-11, and Captainfuzzy-4. Congratulations to our winner, Yuko, and thank you to everyone who came out to play.
