REAL LIFE NEWS: THAT'S SOME TOY CAR!

by Hazed

Jack Neal, a three-year-old boy from Lincolnshire in the UK, is a boy who knows what he wants and is prepared to take it - he recently bought a £9,000 car on eBay using his mother's account!

Rachel Neal had left her computer logged onto the online bazaar and the little darling hit the "buy it now" button to purchase a Barbie-pink Nissan Figaro. His parents only discovered his impetuous shopping spree when they got the confirmation email from eBay. The boy's father, John, had to phone up the vendor and explain the situation; he fortunately saw the funny side and said he would re-advertise the car.

This shows the dangers of all the features sites like eBay and Amazon add that let you buy stuff with just a click of the mouse. "One-click purchase" may make things simple and quick, but it also makes it dead easy for you or somebody else - the child or even the cat - to buy stuff by accident.

That's not to mention the security risk of leaving yourself logged on to anything when you walk away from the computer!
