ENGINEER PROMOTION CODE RELEASED

by Hazed

At today's reset, the code to allow Founders to promote to Engineers was released to players, having been thoroughly tested by our diligent test team all week. There are still a few outstanding issues that need cleaning up but these are not important enough to delay the release of the code, when players have been waiting so long for it. Bella will fix those shortly.

The promotion requirements are that you should do 30 infrastructure builds. There is only one specific type of build needed: your planet cannot advance to resource level unless you have a couple of schools to educate your populace - unlike farming which any uneducated peasant can do, it does take a modicum of knowledge to operate mining equipment. There's a bit more to mining than just digging holes in the ground!

When you are ready to promote, you type 'PROMOTE' and then at the next reset you will become an Engineer, provided you have done enough builds and have the required schools. If your planet is not ready, you will be told how many builds you have done when you use that command, so it's a handy way of checking your progress as you do your builds (rather than having to add up the numbers from your planet display).

Assuming that many of the current Founders have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to promote, we can expect to see the Galaxy's biggest firesale tonight, as they try to clear out their stocks before everything gets re-rolled on promotion.

CEOs should be aware that following tomorrow's reset the production and consumption patterns will change, so just because you have a no-maintenance factory now, it doesn't necessary mean it'll stay that way!
