GEEK TOY: THE E-ROPE POWER SOCKET

Homes that were built more than, say, fifteen years ago never have enough power sockets for today's gadget-lovers. What did we have back then? A TV, a video and a music center in the living room... a bedside light and a clock-radio in the bedroom...

I just started to count up everything that plugged into a socket in my living room, and I lost count when I got up to 20. In order to power all of those gadgets, you need to use power strips, extension cords, and plug adapters, all chained together in impossible tangles.

Now here's a new invention that deals with the problem in an elegant way: the modular E-Rope Sockets. You can plug as many as you need together into a strip, then twist them through different angles like the old tetris snake toy. This invention has just won a design award but isn't on sale yet - let's hope it gets into production soon!

Take a look at a picture of the E-Rope sockets on the Sci Fi Tech web site.
