ROLE-PLAY CLASS

Sunday May 14
by Catspaws

Despite rumors that I was hatched under a rock, I do have a mother, and I missed the class today in order to surprise that sweet lady responsible for my existence. Luckily, it had already been planned that Lynnea would do the class this week, as she wanted to discuss role-playing with your planet.

The Role-play Class is usually well-attended, and even though so many of us were with our mothers, Lynnea still had a nice group for her discussion on 'Role-playing With Your Planet.' The class started off slow - I think they were shocked when Honoria smacked Gilar for discussing Lynnea's hair (good job, Gilar!) - but eventually they all woke up and began to participate.

One excellent point that Lynnea brought up is that role-playing your planet can start long before you ever build your planet, even in the earliest of ranks. As you role-play your character, the theme of your future planet often develops. In her case, she started the storyline for her planet when she was a groundhog. Roughly, Necrose of Lair owns Sauterne, having conquered the planet, and put Lynnea in place as the planet's governor. Lower ranks can be a lot of fun as you develop your character's storyline in the game. Note from Lynnea: It is not written in stone that a person has to be the leader of his or her planet.

Lynnea worked some with Jinto, who has a storyline in development for his planet. He is a member of a family exiled from the planet, who will be its reluctant leader when the time comes. I can't wait to see this role-play unfold. They also discussed Occy's future planet a bit, but Occy is very secretive in an Occy-like way.

For those who have not visited, be sure to visit the Role-play Forum at www.icatz.com/fed2 where you can read and submit your personal role-plays, characterizations, planet themes, ideas, and role-plays, and anything else of a role-play nature. The Role-play Team is grateful to Lynnea for her work in setting up this site for us and in donating it to the team.

Lynnea closed the class with the following: "If you want your planet's story to come to life for the rest of FED you can contact Lynnea, or send a request to feedback to get an interview with Dyana. You can do this at any rank, and she will follow your planet's history at regular intervals. Sometimes answering questions about your planet can be a big help in fleshing out the history."

I want to thank Lynnea for her excellent work with the class, and invite you all to join the role-play team every other Sunday at 4.00pm eastern in Chez Diesel.
